Choosing A Quality Juicer

There is a reason why juicers range so widely in price. When looking to buy a new juicer, many people make the mistake of distinguishing solely based on price. The problem is that there is a difference in quality that warrants the higher prices for better juicers. You want a juicer that is of quality and produces high quality results for the ingredients you put in.

The problem is that most people who have never tested different juicer don't know that what they are regularly drinking is not as high in quality as it could be because of the poor quality juicer they are using. The better juicers operate at slower speeds to maintain the quality of your ingredients. High speed juicers and blender will do about 1,000 to 24,000 RPM.

We want our juices to be a raw as possible and the heat is like cooking the ingredients which breaks down or alters the structures of enzymes and nutrients. This defeats the purpose of juicing in the first place, which is to feed your body high concentrations of nutrients in its most natural form. A good blender will operate at about 80 RPM's to minimize the effect of heating the elements in your juice.

Too much high speed motion of the blades causes more than just heat damage. Micro nutrients and other goodies contained in the juices are vulnerable to impact, as anything else that has physical form in this world. The impact shock can also alter the chemical composition of the nutrients. Juicing also exposes the ingredients to oxidation but slow blades greatly reduces the degree of oxidation.

A lesser consideration for getting a higher quality blender is the amount of noise the machine generates. For under a hundred dollars difference can mean the difference from scaring your cats away to being able to juice while still talking on the phone.

When you pay a little extra for a better model, you are also getting the ingenuity of design. In general, juicers can be tough to clean but a well designed model takes the cleaning process into consideration and could make a big difference when you are deciding whether or not to juice today. Pulp collecting compartments that are easily removable makes cleaning breeze. Some brands are so well designed in this area it can be rinsed and cleaned in five minutes.

Then comes the ingredients that the juicers are built for. Harder ingredients like leafy greens and wheat grass is tougher and cannot be handled by softer juicers such as a centrifugal juicer, which is designed to only handle citrus fruit and other soft ingredients. It is important for anyone to incorporate vegetable juicing just as equally as fruit so unless there is already a strong enough juicer sitting around, there is no reason to buy a juicer that can't juice hard ingredients. Get a multiple function juicer and live life juiced.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Trivia

A very popular cookie is the Chocolate Chip Cookie. A favorite treat of our family, we like it best right out of the oven.

Chocolate Chip Cookies are drop style cookie. They traditionally consist of a dough with brown sugar and white sugar and butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips in it.

There are variations of the cookies with oatmeal or nuts or M&M's like my kids love. Another favorite is Macadamia nut in with white chocolate.

A favorite treat of mine made by Mrs. Fields is a cookie-wich. It has two cookies with frosting in between. Lots of sugar and calories of course! I do not have a Mrs. Fields stand near me anymore as it closed, luckily!

Who do we owe thanks to for this great treat? The Chocolate Chip Cookie was first made by a lady named Ruth Graves Wakefield. They were called Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies.

The reason for the Toll House name is Ruth Graves Wakefield had purchased an inn called the Toll House Inn in Massachusetts with her husband, Kenneth Wakefield.

Built on a toll road, the inn was a toll booth of sorts, a restaurant and an inn. Folks would pay tolls there like we pat tolls today.

A cookbook was written in the 1940's by Mrs. Wakefield called "Ruth Wakefield's Recipes: Tried and True". It became a best seller back in those days. The recipes were recipes from her days cooking at the Toll House Inn.

The Toll House Inn was sold in the 1960's. It went through some changes, was sold in the 1970's, restored to it's original form. And it burned down in the 1980's.

From 1903-1977 was when Ruth Graves Wakefield lived. Her grave is in Massachusetts.

In 1997 it was proposed that the Chocolate Chip Cookie be the official cookie of Massachusetts.

Each year billions of variations of this cookie are eaten by folks around the world. We owe Ruth Graves Wakefield a big thank-you for such a classic treat.

The temperature of the beef should be at least 145 F for medium rare doneness. The center of the beef will turn pure pink and the exterior part becomes slightly brown. Burgers must be grilled until at least 160 F for a medium doneness. Continue grilling until the center of the burger is no longer pink and the juices no longer show any pink color on them.

TIP #7 " Monitor the visual quality of the meat

You can check the level of doneness of the steak visually by making cuts at the center using a pair of scissors to check the color of the interior part of the meat.

TIP #8 " Use appropriate pieces of beef and do the right marinating

The tender beef cuts must be marinated for for a maximum of 2 hours and minimum of 15 minutes to ensure that the flavor has properly been absorbed. A lesser quality cut may be marinated overnight. Take note to add a tenderizing enzyme to the marinade to achieve the maximum tenderness.

Poppy seeds are one of the most common things you can find in a kitchen. In this process, a 300 ng/ml result is contracted from a person who has been eating poppy seeds. The Department of Health and Human Services set a cutoff level of 2,000 ng/ml for the Opiate class. Under this guideline, people who are fond of eating poppy seed based goods are safe from having a positive drug result and only those who are truly using opium based illegal drugs are confirmed.

In most times, drug tests are needed to fill in a vacant slot for a job. This is one of the many security measures that most hiring companies do every time they go out looking for a new member of their empire. Another particular myth which is directly related to the previous one is the potential of poppy seeds in taking away your job opportunity. This myth suggests that eating foods that contain poppy seeds by any amount can definitely result to a positive drug test making you loose the chance of landing on a good job. Much worse, it can label you as a drug user. This may have been true and have been a misfortune to some back when the cut off level for the Opiate class was still at low 300 ng/ml. Methods of Making Chicken

The ways in which a chicken can be cooked are numerous; in fact, too many to be listed. Some may be approved of and others may not be approved of. Cooking of this bird in its different forms bring out the best of every flavor. The recipes of the cooking of this type of bird are also numerous and in regards to the chicken having a low fat content, preparation for the chicken is easy.

Keep the chicken refrigerated to maintain its temperature in the range of 40C and 600C. It is kept cool because the bacteria in meat replicates faster in high temperatures. Put the chicken in water that has salt in the ratio of 3 tablespoons for four glasses of water. The chicken should remain in the water for about an hour and longer if it happens to be frozen. In this way, the chicken will be tender and juicy and will be able to cook faster.

Then the chicken should be sealed. This can be done by brushing the chicken surface with a thick coat of marinade sauce or light cooking oil coat. The chicken can then be enclosed so that it may be grilled with marinade in a bag of foil. The covering is done to prevent the chicken from drying out. The chicken should then be pound, mostly the thighs and breast, to an even thickness. This method will allow for the even cooking of the chicken.

Adjust the heat of cooking in accordance to the type of cooking being undertaken. Roasting, sauting, baking, grilling as well as deep frying are dry heat methods of cooking. These methods need high temperatures to cook well but a little amount of time, like 8 to 10 minutes in grilling chicken breasts. Steaming, parchments baking, slow cooking and poaching are the moist heat types of cooking which require a longer time to be ready like 15 minutes to poach chicken breasts.

Check the chicken to make sure that it is cooked well. This is done by cutting off the thickest part to see if the temperature if it is 73.80C.
